Payment & Deposits

Simple terms, careful placement.

What comes with a puppy, when the reservation and deposit are due, what is refundable, and the ways you can pay.

How pricing works

When we approve your application, we share our current pet placement pricing with you by email and in your portal. That happens before any money changes hands, so you can decide whether to reserve with the full picture in front of you.

Our pricing reflects what stands behind each puppy. We are building our program by selecting dogs from excellent breeders across the country and around the world. We do Embark testing, OFA evaluations on our primary line dogs, full veterinary care, and eight weeks growing up underfoot in our home.

Your reservation holds your place on the list, and both the reservation and the deposit are applied toward your puppy's price.

Show and breeding placements

Full AKC registration carries an additional fee. Health-testing expectations, co-ownership, and breeding terms are all things we're glad to discuss with you and customize in contract. If you are interested in showing or breeding, just note it on your application and we can review it with you.

What comes with your puppy

  • A health certificate from our vet, with vaccination and deworming records
  • Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming
  • A written health guarantee covering genetic and congenital conditions through your puppy's first year
  • Lifetime breeder support; we're a text away for the life of your dog
  • A take-home kit: a bag of the food we've been feeding, and a blanket and toy carrying mom's scent
  • Microchip and AKC registration paperwork are available on request, at an additional cost. Let us know in advance if you'd like either.

Deposit & payment timeline

Waitlist reservation (after approval)
$300
Deposit (within 48 hours of being contacted to choose)
+$200
Balance (before pickup at 8 weeks)
Your puppy's price, less the $500 already paid

The waitlist reservation. If we don't have a puppy for you within the timeframe we estimated and you'd rather not keep waiting, the full $300 is returned to you. If at any other point you decide the timing isn't right, $200 comes back, no questions asked. The remaining $100 is a non-refundable administrative fee.

The deposit. When we contact you that you're next to choose, you have 48 hours to accept: paying an additional $200 converts your reservation into a $500 deposit on that puppy, applied toward the final price at pickup. Paying is how you accept, so there's no separate acceptance step. If you'd rather not take a puppy from that litter, you can pass with no penalty and keep your place for the next one. The $500 is not refundable once you've accepted. The one exception is ours: if something happens on our end and we can't place that puppy with you, you choose between a full return of everything you've paid or moving to another puppy.

Full terms are on the waitlist page.

Accepted payment methods

  • Zelle
  • Venmo (friends & family)
  • Good Dog (accepts credit cards)
  • Cash at pickup, arranged with us in advance

We don't accept personal checks, cashier's or bank checks, or money orders. A puppy can only go home once the balance has cleared.

Where to send it. Once you have been approved, the account details for each method, along with anything you need to know before sending, are waiting in your private portal. Check in with us before sending a payment either way.

How the process felt

Here's what a few families had to say once their puppy was home.

He has been such a pleasure so far. He earned his Home Manners title at 14 weeks and has been potty trained since about that time as well. Thank you so much for him!
